Yith once again demonstrates stitch-nazi-ism in the 'why did you choose your side' thread:

All good.

but...

Brass buttons on a Leather Jerkin? Are they lions? If so, then its a post war Belgian one.

The British ones had plain brown 4 hole plastic buttons on them. I'd change them over if I were you.

What make is the denison you got for £120?

Doesn't really help the relaxed kit rules cause does it?

Dave, I deleted your post about winding up Rich, Gadge and Gunman as you'd put it in the public forum and wasn't sure if that's what you meant to do!

It doesn't matter, your second post was more contextual - luckily psycho took it in good heart.

This from Rich!

Steve...

It might have been better to pm me to ask me to make my post clearer rather than posting directly and starting a public argument.

By posting directly you automatically meant I had to respond in order to defend myself.

Richard

Why does he think he needs to defend himself? Weird....

I give up. I PMd back saying that I just wanted the newer playing to be put at ease and he responds with this:

Sorry,

What you posted implied (directly or indirectly) that I was stitch counting. That certainly wasn't my intention and I had to then clarify that was the case.

It would have gone a lot better as a pm...

After all you knew I was there and could respond immediately and would fix things or add a clarification of my own. There was no need to jump in on our discussion.

Its better to do our washing in private than in public since we're both moderators.

Cheers,

Richard

But the point is my dear Richard, that it needed to be public. Coooooock!

Yes, I tend to agree with Rich - he could have clarified himself instead of a series of subsequent posts. It did look like Yith was being jumped on.

I'll clean the thread then.

EDIT: No I won't, I can't be bothered.

Dog Company..... :ghey:

I wish they'd actually do some fecking kit research instead of just buying EVERYTHING in the SOF catalogue.....

Plus, it looks like they'll need a couple of parachutes each...oh, and a razor for the chap on the right.

Picky? Stitch-counting? Yes. But if you're going to take photos to show off how good you look, make sure you look good first.

Generally speaking, US Airborne chaps look like a bag of shit - a real mess; webbing hanging off, pockets akimbo, dangling straps - not to mention completely the wrong shape!

And that, Gentlemen, is a prime example of why i'm putting a US loadout together than has nowt to do with 101 or Rangers....

Tell me if you think I'm out of order. I've tried to keep it constructive but with a little dig here and there.

I had written a reply but you beat me to it!

Yeh, throwing it on and saying 'I'm wearing all the kit, therefore I look like a soldier' - when it just looks like you have had a rummage through a dressing up box!
Hell, even if you are talking about film-sim - they don't look like a sack of shit in Band of Brothers!

Still, I look forward to further debate...

Hmm, I think I've gotten to the bottom of the problem.

As an ex soldier, a soldier is defined by many things, plus I don't really want to back into the army. I don't take orders very well, I'm too used to giving them and would not have the brass to order my mates around.

So really they're just a group of individuals looking to do their own thing....

Nevermind, they're clearly missing the point on this one. Especially my points about stitch-counting not being the issue. It's about finality and completion.

Ah feck em. They can look shit, I don't care. "I'll do it my way regardless of what anyone thinks, even if it's the wrong way."

For the record I've PMd Pete Dunn about his problem with his job and offered to swap kit with him if he ever needs it, so maybe I'll just go Germans and the Yanks can carry on being dicks about their kit amongst themselves.

No wonder Webby gave up on the Doughboys.

Thing is, you said what everyone else is thinking but dare not say!

Hey ho - I've posted up a 'policy' thing in the CiA section as chaps seem to be confused by what is and isn't CiA policy and where it applies. Don't suppose anyone will read it though...
